About Bruce Hudson
Seattle area native Bruce Hudson and his late wife Sue started Hudson’s Photography in 1982. Bruce, a former Tahoma High School band director in Maple Valley, WA, and Sue, an administrative assistant for the City of Renton, WA, took the wonderful hobby of photography and turned it into a full time profession!
In the early years of Hudson Portraits, Bruce and Sue’s main focus was to build a business on the strong foundation of superior customer service and innovative photography. “We have always had a passion for our clients that was contagious. I feel that is why our business grew so quickly from the start. Positive word of mouth marketing spread like wildfire,” says Bruce!
As the business grew, so did the number of photographic awards. Bruce Hudson’s local, national, and international accolades are numerous. And thousands of photographers have personally studied with Bruce over the years. Today, Hudson’s Portrait Design is considered one of the top family portrait and wedding photography studios in the country! 27 years later the focus is still centered solely on the photographic needs of their clients. Many of Bruce Hudson’s early high school senior clients from the 1980’s returned later as brides and grooms. They then came back as parents of newborn children, as family portrait clients, and even parents of high school senior clients! “At Hudson’s it’s all about relationships! When you treat clients right and provide them with a unique and professional service, they come back again and again,” says Bruce.
One of the major selling points for most of Hudson’s portrait clients is Hudson’s unique ability to photograph on-location anywhere. Although most of their portrait sessions take place here in the Pacific Northwest, many of Bruce Hudson’s photography assignments for wedding and family photography have taken him all over the country and world. From Tokyo, Japan, to Scottsdale, Arizona, and from Hawaii to Charleston, South Carolina, Bruce and the Hudson’s Portrait Design team go to extraordinary lengths to insure that your portraits are unique, fun, and the best ever taken of you! In fact, some of Hudson’s most popular events, Portrait Safaris, are scheduled throughout the year in various locations.
The studio today consists of Bruce’s wife Terri, who joined the team in 2009, his son Josh, who was added to this all-star roster in 2005, and Kelly, who has been a part of the team since 1999. Hudson’s Portrait Design has been in business for over 27 years and continues to provide the Seattle area some of the finest family portraiture, wedding photography, and children’s portraits in the industry today!

THANKFULLY, I PHOTOGRAPHED EVERY SPORT MY KIDS HAD EVER PARTICIPATED IN AND HAVE MANY MANY PHOTOS OF HER! i COULDN'T PUT INTO WORDS WHY PHOTOGRAPHY HAS BECOME SO IMPORTANT TO ME BUT AFTER READING YOUR HEARTFELT STORY ABOUT YOUR WIFE AND THERESA, IT POWERFULLY BROUGHT MANY EMOTIONS TO THE SURFACE AND HAS INPSIRED ME TO CONTINUE TO LEARN ALL THAT I CAN TO BE A PHOTOGRAPHER THAT GIVES "LIFE" TO OTHERS.
