There's something about the spring time the northwest that gets people in the mood for family portraits! I had a great consultation this morning with a couple who were referred to me from a doctor client of mine. They have an anniversary coming up and feel like this is a great time to capture their love once more! I'm heading out to their home later today to check out some of the wall space and to get a better sense of the color and decor of their home. Plus, the wife is a master gardener and they have acres of manicured scenes for me to shoot in.
Spring is a great time for family portraits! The blooms are out and it's not to hot, especially for the little ones. Whether you are new to Hudson's or have worked with us in the past, we'd to see you this spring!
Many of you may not know this, but about 60-70% of our yearly business comes from existing clients! The rest comes from referrals and general marketing that we do. We must be doing something right; our client’s come back us!
For years we have been taking referrals, it makes sense when you think about it. A client comes in, has their family portrait taken, and now proudly displays their 30x40 canvas wall portrait in their home. Friends and neighbors admire it and ask, “Who created that for you…I want one!” And every time we get a referral we always send our clients something to say thank you. Our referral program just makes it official now!

It still amazes me after all these years of being in the wedding business that there are still new products out there! This wedding album is actually half photographic paper and half normal paper. One side has images and the other is where guests can wish you well! We are starting to add these to our 7, 9, and unlimited hour wedding coverage collections as a special gift from us!
Have I told you yet that I’m having a BLAST photographing pets??? What a kick! I actually had a lifelong show dog breeder ask me today, “You are the best pet photographer I have ever seen, how long have you been doing it?” Well, about 2 weeks! LOL! I can’t remember what kind of dogs these are, but Bentley on the left is the dad and Sammy on the right is the daughter, a true family portrait! There owners are client on mine, in fact, Carol, the owner of Bentley, was the first to call in about our Pet Portrait Model Search. She saw her images today and was just thrilled! The image is one I created of her dog and her mother-in-law’s dog, who just happens to be Bentley’s daughter. What a fun session!

We are having so much photographing our 4 legged friends here at Hudson's! I even photographed my first lizard portrait in 27 years of being in business! Literally within 24 hours of announcing that we are now doing high end pet portraits we booked 2 dozen sessions! We were going to cap it at 12 models, but decided to let it ride!
Josh contacted the Humane Society and let them know what we are doing and decided to partner up! In addition to the free session and 8x10, most of our clients wanted more images, so we developed several packages that include a small wall portrait (including our cool new square wrapped canvas) and some smaller sizes at some discounted prices. A portion of the proceeds from this will go back to the Humane Society! Talk about a win win!
