Hello Dawg Fans!

What a fun day! A lot of our clients are die hard Husky fans, many of which are football season ticket holders or Tyee Club members. Needless to say, we have an "in" at Husky Stadium. Today we photographed the Heindel Family where their season tickets are, near the tunnel, and on the field. The weather held off until right after we were finished! What a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

I photographed the Heindel's a few years ago in Safe Co. Field and they thought I could never top that. Well, stay tunned for some great images, I think we accomplished our mission! Josh will be posting some highlights from the session on Facebook, connect with us and check them out next week! So that bags the question Dawg Fans...how Dawg are you? Check out some video highlights below!

Thanks guys!

Jen & Joel's Engagement Journey!

Josh and I had a great time photographing Jenny and Joel for the second time during their engagement journey. So much of engagement photography is capturing the story behind the love. Sometimes that means experiencing what the couple has! Their first engagement session was up at Western Washington University, where both of them attended college. They share a love for books and reading, so we used the library as backdrop. Check out some of those images on our Hudson’s Facebook Page, Click Here.

For their second engagement session, they wanted to be photographed on the ferry to Vashon Island. Joel grew up on Vashon and he and Jenny have spent a lot of time traveling back and forth from the island during their courtship. So, last Saturday we hopped on the 9:15 ferry and where able to create some truly one of a kind images for them! Check out the video below for some highlights!

Congratulations guys, I can’t wait to photograph the big day on May 22nd!

McKenna's Engagement Pictures from Cannon Beach. OR!

As many of you know, my daughter McKenna is engaged and will be getting married on November 19th 2010! I just posted a entire album of images on our Facebook Page, CLICK HERE to check them out!

Engagement portraits is the first step for any couple in their journey towards marriage. It's an artistic way to showcase their love and devotion to one another. It's more than just going to a park and snapping some photos. For my daughter McKenna, having these created in Cannon Beach was a special request, one that many of my clients make because I am willing to go the extra miles (literally). We've vacationed as a family to Cannon Beach for over 20 years, it's even hold one of our famous portrait safaris there every year. Bringing Dustin (her main man) to Cannon Beach symbolizes him joining our family.

Congrats Daughter, love you!

What's YOUR Family's Story???

Here’s an image from a session I had yesterday at the University of Washington in Seattle. I always try to tell a story in my images about my subjects. During the consultation I always ask, “What message do you want your portrait to convey?” These particular clients replied, “Smart, sexy mom of 2 kids going back to school!” As I got to know them further during the consultation I learned that she was a single mom graduating from UW this year with degrees in Physics and Bio Chemistry, all while raising 2 teenagers. Designing and putting all of the creative and emotional elements in a portrait like this is what I love to do!

Some of my clients inspire me more than others. Some open up their emotions more than others. This client provided me with both experiences! I felt the UW campus (where she is currently in school at) would make the perfect setting for their session. We even choose to use many of the science buildings as backdrops, since they are big part of her life right now. As for clothing, we decided to have them wear a pale purple, which is one of the school’s colors. The image I am sharing with you today I feel captures the essence of her story. Having her standing above the kids shows her triumph over her 2 year ordeal. The kids look happy and proud of their mom. I also feel the strong vertical gives it a lot of strength in overall composition.

What a great session and I am so excited for them to see the rest of the images during their projection appointment!
