With the weather getting nicer here around the northwest, it's professional family portrait time! Meet the Prince Family from Renton, WA, we've known them personally for a long time. Bruce was in Renton Rotary with Ed, the dad, and has worked with him on many community projects. Now that Ed and Meegan's little boy is older, it was a perfect time for a family portrait in Renton, WA!
Here is another look at the first image, this one black and white! I can't decide which one I like better!
I remember when this little guy was just a baby, they grow up fast!
We also pulled dad aside for a new professional head shot, Ed is a member of the Renton City Council!
This was their favorite image and the one they chose for their wall portrait in their home! Thanks Prince Family!
We had an awesome session with the Du Family out at Alki Beach in Seattle, WA a few weeks ago! It was first official family portrait and they really wanted the "Seattle Lifestyle" look like many of our clients do!
The girls were a little cold so we started with fun shots of the family playing around to get them a little bit warmed up.
They had fun playing on the beach! Later we moved down by Anchor Park down on the rocks...
LOL, I wouldn't normal advise a client to wear colored socks with the cream tops, but it looks cute with the girls!
After the girls were "done" we took mom and dad aside for a nice shot of the 2 of them!

Meet the Viaene Family! Brady and Lois first hired our studio almost 30 years ago to capture the essence of their family. Long time Fairwood residents, which is in Renton near Seattle and Bellevue, WA, they actually came into the original studio location! They brought the oldest Hudson Family Portrait to our 30th Year Anniversary Party, check it out!
We gave away a bunch of gift certificates to The Melrose Grill in Renton, which is hands down the BEST steakhouse in the Northwest! They sent us an image of them enjoying their meal on us!
The reason we are still in business and have seen such success for over 30 years is because of people like this! We are honored to be their family photographer!
On a side note, The Melrose Grill is one of commercial photography clients! It's kind of like the Banner Bank ads...somehow we are all connected to Hudson's! LOL
We had an awesome engagement photography session in Seattle a few months ago with Derrick and Vanessa! They wanted a "Vintage Seattle" look, which is very popular right now! We thought it would be fun to show you a behind the scenes look and then the finished image from the set up!

Last summer we had the opportunity to photograph the Lowell Family on-location in Bend, OR! They rented a house on the shores of Sun River for the entire family! We've worked with the Lowell's for over 28 years and they invited us to come down to update their family portraits. Here's a short video about their 28 year journey with us:
When we first photographed them back in 1984 it was just them and the 4 kids. Now the family is "slightly" larger! It's been fun watching them grow over the years!
Now everyone has their families!

One of the best parts of my job is getting to document and capture families for the first time! The first official family portrait is a really special event in a family's life. Usually mom and dad are done having kids or they have decided to capture their family as it is right now before more little ones come along.
